Design Review

Help your neighborhood maintain its character

Before you begin any exterior modification (architectural, landscape, paint, etc.), you must obtain approval from the Architectural Review Committee even if your modifications are congruent with Tehaleh’s design standards.

Let’s face it, we all have different tastes and styles. The design review process provides consistency in the quality of all exterior home modifications, emphasizes the natural characteristics of the area, and supports the community vision.

Before you submit your application

  1. Review the Use Restrictions and Rules first. Reviewing the rules will give you more realistic expectations when working with your vendor. Even if your modification meets the rules, you still need review and approval before you begin any work.  Then contact Tehaleh Community Life if you still have questions.
  2. View the Architectural Review Fee Schedule. The review fee is non-refundable and will be collected through Vantaca. Once your application is submitted, the fee will be applied to your account.
  3. Plan a realistic timeline. The Architectural Review Committee has 30 days from the date a completed application is submitted to review and provide a written response to the homeowner. Complete, clear, and thorough applications can be returned much sooner.
  4. Don’t assume it will be approved. Even if your modification meets the rules, you’ll still need approval before you begin any work. You may have noticed your neighbor made an exterior modification, but that doesn’t mean it was approved nor that it will work for your home
  5. Wait for the green light. It’s much easier to go through the design review process before you make a modification than to have to remove the modification at your own expense
